Obituary of Roberta A. Reynolds

Roberta Anne Reynolds, “Bobby” of Pearl River, NY, formerly of Valley Cottage and Glen Rock, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021.  

Bobby was born on April 15, 1944, in  New York City to Robert and Margaret Youngs.  She was the eldest of four siblings, William (Judy), Patrick (Candy), Margaret (Den) and Terence (Lynn). She is predeceased by her loving brother Patrick.  Bobby was raised in Glen Rock, NJ and attended St. Catharine’s Elementary School and Mary Help of Christians Academy in Hawthorne, NJ.  She later resided in Valley Cottage, NY.  She was the very proud mother of five sons, “her boys”, Dave (Laura), Sean (Kathleen), Terence “TJ” (Jessica), Christopher (Eileen) and Craig (Krista).  While caring for her five boys, Bobby graduated from Nyack College while working full time for IBM of which she is retired.  After retiring from IBM, Bobby went on to work at the Rockland County Fire Training Center and later accepted a position at the Rockland County Health Department.  

Some of the many organizations that Bobby volunteered for were the Girl Scouts of America, Nyack Public School PTA, St. Paul’s Church in Congers where she was a catechist for many years.  Bobby was a founding member of the Signal 13 Club which later became The Valley Cottage Fire Department Lady’s Auxiliary and earned her life membership at The Valley Cottage Fire Department.  

Bobby was an avid reader who loved the beach. Family, hard work, and community were always most important to her. Bobby tried very hard to never miss a sporting event for her boys and was always there to cheer them on or volunteer in any way.  One of her proudest moments was becoming a Grandma.  She loved her thirteen grandchildren so very much, Ciaran, Colleen (Dave), Patrick, Kaleigh (Sean), Colin, Brenna, Liam, Erin (TJ), Maeve, Hannah, John “Jack” (Chris), Oliva and Grace (Craig).   

Bobby passed away peacefully surrounded by her five boys, her brother Bill and her sister-in-law Judy.  She will be forever missed and always loved.  

A wake will be held on Sunday August 29th from 2:00pm - 6:00pm at the Joseph W. Sorce Funeral Home, Inc. 728 West Nyack Road, West Nyack, NY 10994 (845) 358-4433.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take lace on Monday August 30th at 10:00am at St. Paul's Church, Lake Road, Congers, New York.  Burial to immediatly follow at Gethsemene Cemetery in Rockland Lake.
