Obituary of Joseph DiMaggio
Joseph DiMaggio passed away peacefully on April 30th after a long battle of various health conditions. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and devoted friend to many, Joe was personable, friendly and always willing to help those around him. Born in the Bronx, Joe grew up in a large traditional Italian family. His brothers, sister and mother all had a hand in Joe's upbringing and making him the man we all loved and adored. Joe served his country in the Korean War and was honorably discharged from the army as a decorated veteran.
Having worked at Burgundy Gardens for over 40 years as the building supervisor. Joe was a hard worker who along with a strong work ethic, was dedicated and took pride in everything he did. A successful business owner, he also owned and managed two italian delis that were a staple to the community. As if that wasn't enough, Joe also drove a school bus for Peter Brega for over 30 years which he used as an excuse to wake up early.
