Mafalda Margarita Aiello

Mafalda passed away on March 7, 2021 at the age of 97.  She was born in Corona, Queens, NY, on December 28, 1923, to the late Frank and Santa Millo.  She was predeceased by her husband, Frank, and her sisters Venerina Trapani and Maria LaMotta.

Mafalda married Frank Aiello, a WWII veteran, on May 8, 1949 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Corona, Queens.  The family moved to Valley Cottage in 1951 and later to West Nyack, where she lived for 63 years. 

Mafalda worked for the Circulation Department at The Journal News in West Nyack for 29 years until her retirement in 1991.  She was a member of St. Anthony’s parish in Nanuet and Congers II Senior Citizens Club.  For many years she volunteered running Bingo games for the Dominican Sisters in Sparkill.

Mafalda is survived by her daughter, Rosalie Aiello of West Nyack, and various nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and great grand nieces and nephews.
