Theresa “Tess” Sica
Theresa “Tess” Sica passed away peacefully on October 26th,with her family by her side. She was born in the Bronx on October 16,1923 to Assunta and Giuseppe Rosica. She married Fred Sica on May 25,1947 in the Bronx and moved to Orangeburg, New York in 1959 with their three children. She was well liked and developed many lifelong friendships. She was a secretary at the Dominican College library for over thirty years where she enjoyed working with the Dominican sisters and the student body.Theresa was an active Charter Member of the Romanesque Lodge No. 2198, Order Sons and Daughters of Italy, Blauvelt, New York. Theresa will be remembered for her Italian Sunday dinners, eggplant parmigiana, and devotion to her family. She is survived by her daughter Susan Leale(Dom Zarro) of Emerson, NJ, son Richard Sica (Noreen) of River Vale, NJ and daughter Francine Crowe (Thomas) of Pearl River, NY and five loving Grandchildren, Sal Leale (Janet), Suzanne Leale (Lisa Kisner), Kimberly LaSpada (Anthony), Christina Nilson (Michael) and Cara Constantinides (Michael), and nine Great Grandchildren, Jake, Madison and Luke Leale, Hunter Leale, Anthony James and Cameron LaSpada, Amelia and Michael Nilson Jr., and Luca Constantinides. Tess is also survived by her sister Rita Fallon and brother Joseph Rosica. "Grandma Tess" enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren,leaving them with many fond and happy memories.
The family will receive visitors on Thursday, October 29thfrom 3-7 pm at the Joseph W. Sorce F. H. Inc. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 30that 10:00 am at St. Catharine's Church, Blauvelt, NY where Tess was an active parishioner.
