Obituary of Marcellus Estimable
Mr. Marcellus Estimable, commonly known as “Maso”, was born on March 18, 1934 in Cerca-La-Source, Haiti to parents Thomas and Claire Estimable. He was the second born of their six children. His mother died when he was 14 years old, leaving him to help his father raise his younger siblings. In order to provide for them, he decided to join the Haitian military at the age of 22, where he ended up serving for 25 years, retiring in 1981. During that time, Marcellus met and fell in love with Anne-Marie Colas. They united in Holy Matrimony on September 7th 1968, and have been married for 52 years. Their bond created 4 children, and in turn, 7 grandchildren, and 4 great grand children.
Marcellus migrated to the United States in 1984 in search for a better life and to provide for his family back in Haiti. He moved his family to the United States in 1987. He worked as a machine operator in various locations in New York and New Jersey. He retired for good in 1999.
Marcellus was a member of the Harvest Assembly of God since it began in 1986. Affectionately known as “Brother Maso”, he actively participated in weekly Sunday services. He was well liked and will be deeply missed by his family, friends and the members of the congregation.
Marcellus Estimable is survived by his wife, Anne-Marie Estimable; his two sons: Herby and Jean Pierre “Andy” Estimable; his daughter, Mirlande Posy, his grandchildren: Woody Posy, Gina Posy, Jerry Posy, Josiah Estimable, Sharyse Estimable, Darnell Estimable, and Ayvah Estimable; his great grandchildren: Anthony Posy, Nylan Williams, Shayla Posy, and Finesse Williams.
