Obituary of Leo E. Coe

Leo Edward Coe, 85, of Valley Cottage (Rockland County) NY passed away with family by his side on April 25th after a long illness.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Joseph W. Sorce Funeral Home in West Nyack, NY (details below).

Leo Coe was born in NYC in 1933 to Marie (Bonnassiole) Coe and Leo E. Coe Sr.  He was educated in the Bronx NY and soon became a proud member of the US Army (having first served several months in the Army/Air Force prior to their separation).  Leo was a Korean War veteran; he also served in Germany and Japan.  He went on to become a stone mason and retired as Job Superintendent for A. Best & Co.  He ran construction jobs throughout Manhattan and beyond for many years supervising bricklayers with then local #66 (now local #1).

Leo was a boating enthusiast and piloted his own boat, which he proudly named, "My Way;" he was a determined, passionate fisherman, golfer and bowler in his retirement; he enjoyed many road trips and cruises.  He loved meeting interesting people both in the US and abroad from all walks of life. He made friends easily and had a smile and personality larger than life. 

Leo is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Wendy (Niblack) Coe, his siblings; sister Antoinette (Frenchie) Barker, brother Richard (Blackie), children Leo, Guy and Michael (wife Michelle), 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  Leo is predeceased by his parents, his 1st wife Ann (Radiano) Coe, and mother of Leo's 3 sons.  He is also predeceased by brothers Maurice (Sonny) and Ralph (Tom) and his wife Anna (Taylor) and his sister, Doris (Kearns) and her husband John. 

Family will receive friends between 10:30 am - 1:30 pm on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Joseph W. Sorce Funeral Home, 728 West Nyack Road, West Nyack NY 10994 (845) 358-4433.  In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made in Leo's memory.  Here are 2 of Leo's favorite charities:
