Obituary of Philip Brelesky

Philip Brelesky of West Nyack, NY passed away on March 21, 2019 at the age of 79 due to complications following heart surgery.  He is survived by his beloved wife Charlotte, his daughter Gail, brother Kenneth, sisters-in-law Audrey Brelesky and Melinda Munro, as well as many nieces and nephews.  Philip was born in Yonkers, NY and attended local public schools there, including Gorton High School where he met Charlotte.  They were married in 1962. He served in the National Guard 101st Signal Battalion, and had daughter Gail in 1968.  He graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from General Motors Institute in Flint, Michigan.  He had a long career at the GM plant in North Tarrytown, NY where he trained during his college years and eventually became the Superintendent of Plant Engineering.  He retired in 1996.  Phil especially liked playing in family golf tournaments where his steady analytical approach to the game made him a valuable partner.  He is a self taught carpenter and his home workshop is filled with his many projects including miniature golf holes with putting greens, sand traps and tiny players.  He also did Volunteer work for Habitat for Humanity.  His special personality has left many people with rich and amusing memories.
