Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt Frances Wamsley Lankau passed peacefully on Saturday August 25, 2018, surrounded in love and by the family she cherished so dearly.

Frances, born to the late Filomena Florence Maiorano and George Francis Wamsley on February 8, 1937 at home in South Nyack, was the third of ten children. She also found time to pursue several long time passions including cooking, gardening, quilting, family and travel. She was honored to be a published cook. Later, she and Charles travelled extensively within the U.S. and Canada, throughout most of Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

In retirement, the couple enjoyed splitting time between their beloved homes in Miami, Florida and Sag Harbor, New York. She spent every holiday and summer vacation with her children and grandchildren. Being part of a large, close-knit family sustained her and remained the most valued part of her life.

Frances is survived by her daughter Lisa, son Charles and daughter-in-law Melenie, son Stephen and daughter-in-law Daphne; grandchildren Michele, Lianna, Charles IV, Jay, Nicholas, Andrew, Annalisa, Mia and Stephen, Jr.; sisters Belle Grasso, Elsie and Richard Peterson, Dorothy and James Dean, Janice Savarese and brothers Joseph and Judy Wamsley, George and Rose Wamsley and John and Cheri Wamsley, and more than 45 nieces and nephews.
