Obituary of Frank Francabandera

Frank Francabandera of Monroe, CT, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 17, 2017 at the age of 81 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born December 28, 1935 to Luca and Maria Francabandera in Astoria, NY, he was the youngest of seven brothers and sisters. He attended New York University.

For 37 years he lived and raised his family in Orangeburg, NY. He worked many years in NYC for IM Pei & Partners as Director of Services and later worked for the Rockland County School System. Frank enjoyed spending time with his family  hunting and fishing. He was an avid boater who held a US Coastguard license, and was the Commadore of the Polaris Yacht Club of Stamford, CT. He was the Chairman and member for many years of the Orangetown Architectural and Community Appearance Board of Review.

Frank is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Frances, his loving children; Kenneth Francabandera of Cape Coral, FL, Richard (Connie) Francabandera of Blauvelt, NY and Karen Johnson (Chris) of Monroe, CT. He was also a loving grandfather to his six grandchildren; Frank, Nicholas, Christopher, Stephen, Jessica and Matthew.

Our family wishes to give heartfelt thanks for the loving care given by Chaifetz Family Hospice.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 11:00am at St. Catharines Church, Blauvelt, NY. Interment will follow in Tappan Cemetery, Tappan, NY.
