Charles F. Partridge Jr. passed away at his West Nyack residence on Friday, January 10, 2020. He was born September 11, 1947 in Suffern, NY to Charles and Dorothy Partridge.
He graduated from the Clarkstown High School in 1965 before attending Providence College pursuing two of his passions - Political Science and Basketball. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970.
Returning home from service, Charles, better known to family and close friends as Charlie, Chas, or Bird became a real estate salesman for Charles F. Partridge Real Estate before moving on in his career as a health inspector for the Rockland County Health Department. In 1996, his career abruptly halted after contracting cancer as a result of his military service in the Vietnam War.
Charles will always be remembered for his quick wit, sharp sense of humor and the sweetest sentimentality. He was a great debater – whether it be politically (conservative vs. liberal) or sports oriented (Mickey Mantle vs. Willie Mays).
Charles’ loves in life included first and foremost, his family and friends. His passions and hobbies included politics (Ronald Reagan, William F. Buckley), sports (The Yankees, Providence Basketball, the Jets, and Arnold Palmer), listening to Frank Sinatra, doing the daily crossword puzzle, and slapstick comedy (Marx Brothers, The Three Stooges, and Abbot and Costello).
Charles was predeceased by his father, Charles Sr., mother Dorothy, and brother John. He is survived by his two loving sons, Christopher J. Partridge and Jeffrey C. Partridge. His beloved girlfriend Ginny Diamant (Sons – Robbie and Chris).His two sisters Cheryl L. VanDeusen, and Mary Partridge-Brown. He will also be greatly missed by daughter in-law Elena and grandson John. In addition, he leaves his nephew Davidand nieces Sarah, Savannah, and Madison and many other family members to mourn for him.
Visitation will take place at the Joseph W. Sorce Funeral Home, 728 West Nyack Road, West Nyack, NY on Tuesday, January 14th from 2-4p.m. and 7-9p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 15th at St. Anthony’s Church, Nanuet NY at 10:00a.m. Interment will be in the St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, the Disabled American Veterans, and the Shriners Hospital for Children.
