Joseph W. Sorce was the founder and co-owner of Joseph W. Sorce Funeral Home, Inc. with his wife. Marlene. Joe graduated in 1969 as a Licensed Funeral Director from the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service. Prior to purchasing the funeral home in 1974, Joseph worked in New York City. He was actively involved in community activities, including St. Anthony's Church Holy Name Society, Past President and Paul Harris Fellow Recipient of the West Nyack Rotary, Past President of the Sons of Italy in Blauvelt, Past President as well as a 40 year member of the West Nyack Volunteer Fire Department #1 and a member of the Rockland Country Club (where he loved to play golf). It is with deep regret that Joe passed away on Aug. 24, 2015.
Marlene A. Sorce
Marlene Sorce was co-owner of Joseph W. Sorce Funeral Home, Inc. with her husband, Joseph. She was a graduate of the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service. Marlene had been a licensed Funeral Director since 1980. She was a member of St. Anthony's Church Choir and Parish Council, Blessed Mother Sodality, Board of Directors of the Catholic Community Serving Rockland and a member of the West Nyack Fire Deptartment Ladies Auxiliary. Sadly Marlene Passed away on Oct. 30, 2013.
Melissa A. Sorce-DeNicola
Melissa A. Sorce-DeNicola is a graduate of the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service. Melissa has been a licensed funeral director since 1987. Melissa also graduated in 1982 from Marymount College in Tarrytown with a B.A. Degree in Communications. She is a member and Past President of the Rotary of West Nyack and is a Paul Harris Fellow recipient. Melissa is also a member Leadership Rockland (class of 2001) and is a Board of Directors and on the Board of Directors for the West Nyack Library. Melissa is President of Dakota Monuments, Inc. (inscriptions and monuments for any cemetery)
John A. DeNicola Jr.
John A. DeNicola Jr. is the manager of our funeral home. John is a graduate of the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service, and has been a licensed funeral director since 1987. John graduated in 1982 from Westchester Community College with an A.S. in electronic engineering. Prior to joining Joseph W. Sorce Funeral Home, John worked at a number of funeral homes in Westchester County, NY and the Bronx. John is very active in the community, serves on the West Nyack Volunteer Fire Company #1 as a Firefighter also serving on the Board of Directors as Fire Commissioner. He is a Past President (for 2 years) and Paul Harris Fellow Recipient of the Rotary Club of Nanuet.

Joseph P. Sorce is a graduate of St. Anthony Grammar school in Nanuet and St. Joseph Regional High School Montvale, NJ. Joseph then attended St. Thomas Aquinas College. He Graduated from American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service in 1988 Joseph Is a member of The Rockland Lodge Order Sons of Italy in Blauvelt and Rockland Country Club , Sparkill NY., Member Knights of Columbus Triune Council K Of C 2052. Joseph has been a licensed funeral director since 1989. Joseph married Paige Rassas in 2009, together they have 5 dogs and 4 horses.
Stacey is a graduate of the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service and is an EMT with the South Orangetown Ambulance Corp and Nanuet Community Ambulance Corp.. She joined the Joseph W. Sorce Funeral Home, Inc in 2017. Stacey has 2 beautiful daughters that she is raising to be strong independent women.
