George E. Cranston

George Everton Cranston was 77 years-old at the time of death at Tolstoy Nursing Home in Congers, NY on January 8th.

George was born in Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica on August 21, 1940, to Newman and Claris Cranston. He was the third oldest out of nine siblings. George was a friendly individual. In his early days George was always fond of riding his bikes.

In the early 1960’s, not only did George meet his future wife to be Albertine Cranston with seven children to follow, George received the opportunity to travel to the United States on a Farm work program. Through the farm work program, George was able to travel around the U.S but eventually settled in Nyack and began working for Dr. Davies Farm with whom he worked for over 40 years.

He has built countless of friendships and close bonds with many individuals. People will always know him with a big smile and his whistling of his favorite tunes. 

George is survived by his wife Albertine, daughters Mavernie, Merva, Sharleen and sons O’Neal, Hamilton, Lile, and Richard, Everton, and Dane. Twenty grandchildren, nine great-grand children, four brothers and five sisters.

George was a caring and outspoken individual that always spoke his mind. His calm yet big personality would always shine through. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
